The ELCSA Students Organisation (ELCSASO) brings the church to the students at tertiary educational institutions. In 2009 ELCSASO branches were founded at the University of KwaZulu/Natal (UKZN) – Howard Campus and at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) – Steve Biko Campus. In 2014 the UKZN Edgewood Campus and UKZN Westville Campus branches followed. These student fellowship groups aim to provide a spiritual “home from home” for the Lutheran Students, many of whom come from far. Weekly meetings are held, which include devotions, planning of social events, praise and worship and prayer.
